My Journey
My name is L.A. and I empower people to become the best version of themselves by unlocking their full potential.
I’m a certified life coach who specializes in personal development and instructional coaching. Before my journey as a life coach, I was thinking about becoming a therapist. I worked in the helping profession, I got my degree in psychology, and it just seemed like the right step…to everyone else except me. Something was missing – but I couldn’t quite figure it out yet.
So, I took a break and went into education. I really loved it, but after ten years, I felt like I wasn’t being challenged anymore. I’ll never forget the day when I was on my way to work and questioned, “Is this really it for me?” My days were becoming repetitive and my conversations were limited.
This is when I began to reflect on what it is that I wanted to do with the rest of my life. How can I put my degree and experience to use? After extensive research, I discovered life coaching and I knew that the missing piece I felt before was finally found. This is it.
While I still strongly believe that therapy is important to help those who need to work through their past trauma and mental health, my choice to become a life coach over a therapist is rooted in my passion for personal development, empowerment, and the belief in individuals’ ability to create positive change in their lives. Instead of delving into the past, life coaching primarily focuses on helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their current situation. I find this future-oriented approach more appealing because it empowers people to create positive changes in their lives.
If you like entertaining, but relatable and inspiring advice from someone who has been there, then you’ve come to the right place. I do my best to provide an honest perspective on real-life topics and strive to make a positive impact wherever and whenever I can.
Thank you for taking the time to visit. I look forward to working with you.
What experience do you have?
I am a Certified Life Coach with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Service Management and a Master’s degree in Psychology. I have over 15 years of experience in the helping profession. As a former case manager and educator, I understand the family dynamics between parents and children, including blended families. My experience as a college advisor has helped many people make informed decisions about going back to college or choosing a career path.
I’ve been married for over 20 years and we have three amazing children. As a wife and mom, I’ve had my share of relationship highs and lows, so I know the struggles partners and parents face. It definitely takes a lot of hard work, communication, and patience in order to build trust and a solid foundation.
Throughout my experience, I’ve learned that, although no two people are exactly the same, we may go through similar situations. I believe my own life experiences and knowledge, both personal and professional, can help other people.
